Primary Program

Today we watched the kids primary program at church. I don't have a picture, but I don't want to forget how great it was. Once we got past the nose picking, the waving, and lots of thumbs up, it was such a cute program. Each child told something unique that made them feel special or like a child of God. They started by singing "I am a Child of God" and it struck me how this time of life is so important. It's hard to explain what I felt as I watched my kids. Their purity was so sincere. I don't even remember doing a primary program as a child, but I am sure I did. It was probably one of those little bricks that was being added to my foundation without me even knowing it. I was thinking about how every day, I let little things pass by without enjoying them to the fullest. Like Sarah's smile that lights up a room or Nathan's kisses, as I tell him good bye. Just holding Talmage is a little bit like heaven. Sometimes I get so busy that I forget to stop and enjoy what really matters. I read a quote once by Elder Ballard "What matters most is what lasts the longest." I am thankful for my kids and for what they teach me-I have a feeling I have a lot more to learn.

I agree - I really liked the approach of having the kids share something personal. I'll be curious to see what kind of things Joy might say in a few years.

Sweet. Aren't primary programs the best?!
